Anvil Industrial Group is currently seeking a Mechanical Engineer/Drafter. You will work closely within a small dynamic team to complete many projects ranging from small to large in scope. You will see yourself being assigned projects with details, requirements, and deadlines where you will use your engineering, design, and drafting skills towards completing projects and overcoming challenges. Typical projects will involve site visits, design calculations, and client communication.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Designing mechanical, structural, and multi-disciplined systems and equipment for industrial facilities with respect to the requirements and scope of small to large projects
  • Project Engineering – Client communication, scheduling, and progression of projects
  • Delegation and supervision of work to drafters to ensure project progression and delivery
  • Detailed Design, and drafting from tender documents and drawings
  • Developing deliverables packages along with drafting team – Project Plans, Scope documents, tenders, shop drawings, engineering drawings
  • Effective communication with project manager(s) and team members on all stages of a project to identify and address problems and bottlenecks
  • Make site visits to facilities and construction sites as required for client meetings, site measurements, and inspections

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, drafting, or a related field
  • 3+ years of experience with mechanical design or manufacturing engineering work (preferred)
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (particularly strong with Excel)
  • Over 3 years of proven experience using Autodesk Inventor and/or Solid Works CAD design software in a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of 3D scanning
  • Able to perform design & drafting functions of sheet metal part design, structural steel designs, bills of materials & steel detailing drawings.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Able to work and contribute individually and as part of a team, being a self-starter

Due to the nature of our multi-team approach to design projects, this position is located in-house, requiring you to be on-site working side by side with us at our facility. We are not looking for remote workers, contractors, or non-US citizens at this time. You will be willing to relocate to the Dothan/Ozark, AL area.

Salary based on Experience.
