Shop Foreman
Description

Anvil Industrial Group is looking to hire an experienced Shop Foreman to oversee the day-to-day operations of our company. In this role, you will supervise all personnel, oversee the management and maintenance of equipment, and ensure the efficiency of operations. You will also be required to manage inventory and enforce safety regulations.

To ensure success as a shop foreman, you should be highly organized and have excellent communication skills. Ultimately, a top-notch shop foreman should be able to anticipate and address hindrances to operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.

  • Studies blueprints and shop drawing details.
  • Inspects work in progress and finished products.
  • Interprets company policies for workers and enforces safety regulations.
  • Plans or adjusts work hours to meet production schedules.
  • Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
  • Maintains time and production records.
  • Perform cutting/fitting/welding/ painting work after all supervisory work is performed.
  • Confers with internal and external customers to coordinate schedules.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Directly supervises 5-10 non-supervisory employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

At least Five (5) good years of welding, fabricating, fitting (layout). Experience in miscellaneous steel fabrication is a must. This includes stairs, handrails, ladders, and embeds.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • At least three years' experience as a shop foreman or similar.
  • Proficiency in MS Outlook, Excel, and Word.
  • A great understanding of work optimization techniques.
  • Good knowledge of the applicable safety regulations and procedures.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong leadership abilities.
  • Good time management and problem-solving skills.
